You are not satisfied with the print quality your DTG printer is producing? Now before you take the printer to a technician, you should assess the quality of the DTG ink. Maybe there is some issue with the ink. This is what we are going to cover in this article.
You have just received a big and urgent order and unfortunately, there is some issue with the ink. This is not good for the business not only in terms of revenue but reputation as well. The design is not being printed precisely, the color is not matching your expectation and the overall quality is below par. You are not getting the job done right. You need to get good quality DTG ink. However, the majority of people think that there is something wrong with the printer. Just change the ink and everything will be all right.
Not All DTG (Direct To Garment) Inks Are Same
Just like everything else, both poor quality and good quality direct to garment inks are available in the market. You know that the taste of good coffee is a lot different from bad coffee. Same goes for the ink. Always use genuine dupont dtg ink purchased from a reputed supplier. Average quality ink, first of all, will not produce a quality print. And secondly, the print will not last longer. So, change the ink.
CMYK Profiles Do Matter
DTG inks are developed according to the hardware and software. However, the software is not developed according to the ink. It actually depends on the manufacturer. A particular ink is used while testing the direct to garment printer software. You might be using direct to garment ink of some other brand. This usually happens when you switch your ink brand. So, the color might not be bright. DTG printer manufacturers manufacture inks as well. However, technicians and trainers often recommend ink of some other brand. They think that their software and hardware synchronously work with inks they recommend. However, this is not always true. There is always a risk when you use some third-party DTG ink. No doubt third-party ink can save you some pennies in the initial investment. However, you will lose business because the print on the garment will be really bad.
Not All Inks Are Treated Equally
Proper storage of any material is extremely important. Some materials are kept cold. Some materials are kept sealed. There are some chemical reactions going on at the molecular level. These chemical reactions in an ideal environment keep the ink in the best conditions. However, when the environment is not ideal, unwanted chemical reactions break down the molecular level bonds. The ill effects of storing inks in a bad environment can be seen on the pattern printed on the fabric. So, when you are purchasing ink from some store, only purchase ink that is stored in the ideal environment.
Changing DTG ink usually solves the problem. If not, there is something wrong with the printer.
