St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Riverside, California!
Our parish began on Pentecost Sunday in 1946 with Fr. Joseph Murphy, CSSp, who recognized the need to serve 17 families in this area of Riverside. The parish was known as Church of the Holy Spirit, named for the Holy Ghost Fathers who were our first priests. In 1948, we became known as St. Catherine of Alexandria. We are located at the busy corner of Brockton and Arlington Avenues.
Community Business Owner/Manager,
The youth of our parish will be hosting a free Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Collection Event on Saturday & Sunday, December 4 & 5, 2010. This is a fundraiser to help raise money for our youth programs and to assist our city properly recycle electronic waste.
We are asking for your assistance in advertising this event in two ways.
The first way would be by displaying the attached color flyer in a window of your business.
The second way would be allowing us to place a banner on your property that would promote this event, for two - three weeks prior to the event. The banner would not block your business signage or logo; most are placed in grassy areas and are free standing and don’t damage property. Displaying a banner helps show your business support of the go-green movement by helping the community get rid of unwanted E-waste.
If you are able to help us in promoting our event, please contact me at the number or e-mail below.
Thank you for your consideration. Without your support this event could not happen.
Help our City get rid of E-Waste the right way by sending it to a proper recycling process and not into the landfills!
Electronic discard is one of the fastest growing segments of this nation’s waste stream.
56% of American households have functional e-products that they no longer use.
70% of heavy metals, 40% of lead and mercury contents found in today’s landfills come from E-Waste.
New federal mandate requires that television stations switch from analog format to digital format, which means a greater number of televisions will become obsolete within the next several years.
