IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - Service Provider Rate Reduction Informational Letter
Dear Service Provider,
The Governor of the State of California signed a budget into place on October 8th. A part of that budget is Assembly Bill 1613 which calls for a 4.25% reduction in the rates paid to you for services provided. This is a 1.25% increase in the 3% reduction that went into place on February 1, 2009 and will end on June 30, 2011, unless extended by law.
This increased rate reduction is effective retroactively to July 1, 2010.
The payment that you will receive on November 15th for the services that you provided during the month of October will be reduced by this additional 1.25%. The “turn around” invoices that you received last week reflect this new, lower rate of payment.
The regional center has paid you at a higher rate for the months of July, August and September. As the budget language made this rate reduction retroactive to July 1, you have been overpaid by 1.25% for services that you provided during those months.
San Andreas Regional Center will be required to retrieve this overpayment from you.
Our intention is to do this in a way that causes the least amount of hardship to you as a provider, while staying within the business requirements placed upon the regional center. At this time, the regional center is waiting for additional written instructions from the Department of Developmental Services before moving forward with the repayment.
We would encourage you to read sections 137 and 164 of AB1613, as they contain the exact language and related provisions of this rate adjustment. These sections can be found on our website www.sarc.org, but can also be found at the state Department of Developmental Services website at www.dds.ca.gov/budget/home.cfm.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we move through this difficult process and these difficult times.
