An Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon is a dental specialist who treats the mouth and jaw areas. Following dental school, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon completes several additional years of training in a hospital residency program. He is trained to administer and monitor all types of anesthesia needed for oral surgery procedures.
