Thank you for visiting my former online law offices.
I, James Wiener, have retired from the practice of law effective the last night of Chanukah 2009. For anyone uncertain about that date (that would be pretty much everyone) please take it that my law practice closed, and I'm no longer practicing law, effective New Year's Eve 2009. To former associates in the field I thank you for your friendship and for every professional courtesy. To former clients I thank you for the opportunity to have acted on your behalf during serious times. I have always felt that my clients' successful outcomes were a part of my professional fulfillment and I am very appreciative of our success. And I'm thankful for the privilege to have been a part of such an honorable profession.
With my practice having ended, my e-mail, JAWAtty@aol.com is only checked sporadically and is not a reliable means to contact me. Unless you actually receive an e-mail response from me please know that I did not receive your e-mail. In other words I will respond in e-mail to all e-mails I receive. If you don't get an e-mail response please know and note that I did not get your e-mail.
Due to spam and other e-mail considerations, please note that if you send me e-mail I will try to promptly respond, but unless I respond in writing to you, you must assume that I did not receive your e-mail. Furthermore, in order to establish an attorney-client relationship, I would always require a written retainer agreement that defined the scope of the representation and that's signed by the client and a member of this firm, and electronic signatures were not sufficient to establish an attorney-client relationship, nor would they ever be.
Usually it's better to call me to converse with me personally, but if you need an attorney you can call the Orange County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service.
