Welcome to my website. I invite you to look over what is here. If you have questions or wish to inquire about therapy sessions, please feel free to email me or call me.
It is my belief and experience in working with individuals since 1981, that one doesnt really change. Rather, one becomes more of who they really are as defenses fall away and one becomes more open and real. What emerges out of the therapy process is the whole person as they were meant to be. Through this experience of ones real self, a person feels equipped and ready to face and master lifes challenges as well as receive lifes rewards and joys without shrinking back. It is on this level and from this perspective, that I engage with people as we embark on this journey together.
I work with a wide variety of issues that include the following:

When working with these issues, other areas of focus often come to the surface. These might include childhood traumas (ie. physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse), anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors and post-traumatic stress. I often use EMDR (a proven approach for working with trauma, post-traumatic stress symptoms and negative beliefs), with individuals and regard it as my most powerful tool for helping people heal.
I am very familiar with 12 Step programs as well as alternative routes of recovery.
My practice includes individuals, couples (any two people of any ethnicity or gender, either married or committed), families and teenagers (age 14 and up). I have been in full time private practice in San Rafael, CA, since 1980.
I am in private practice in San Rafael, CA, which is in Marin county about 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco. You are invited to contact me by phone with any questions or concerns you may have or to arrange a therapy appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
