Five years ago, Ellery Woodward-Hartman and her family received the best Thanksgiving surprise they could possibly imagine. Ellery was gravely ill with a rare liver and colon disease when an unconventional treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital spared her from a liver transplant.
