It's right there, off of I-80 W and I-70 W, not even that far. From what we've heard, it's a thriving community on Lake Tahoe's northern shore. Stories permeate blogospheres and social circles about its gorgeous sky, beauteous waters and unbelievable scenery. Its residents feel blessed, living near the waters, being within minutes of outstanding golf courses and some of the finest terrain for skiing and snowboarding in the country.
All these opportunities make Incline Village real estate highly desirable. We've been dying to see it for ourselves, but all our efforts keep getting crippled. Our travels are stalled by everything to do in that area of Nevada.
We start our day intending to get out to Sand Harbor and confirm that its lakes and mountains are utterly breathtaking. Instead, we end up in Reno, checking out the National Automobile Museum (we love cars!) or spending the night at the Atlantic Casino Resort and crashing in one of those unbelievably comfy rooms.
Or another time, we'll only have a few hours to go before reaching the village but will decide to do some Nordic skiing in Sun Valley. No matter what route we take to get to the village, there is always some tantalizing distraction.
We were at a loss. We wondered if we'd ever get to Incline Village and partake of the Mark Twain Cultural Theater or Diamond Peak. But who in their adventurous mind could ignore the Marina Park in Sparks? We challenge anyone to bypass the chance to spend a day at Fernley Speedway (did we mention we love cars?) or ignore the Silverado Casino.
But we're not giving up. Our bucket list still includes standing between Village Boulevard and Country Club Drive at sunset. We also have no intention of giving up on swinging our clubs at one the village's championship golf courses.
What we have developed recently, though, is a greater understanding of why everyone from here to the coast and back again is so interested in Incline Village real estate. There's so much to do everywhere you turn. Winchester, Boulder City, Sunrise Manor, all of them offering some of the most distracting shopping, entertainment, dining and more.
We imagine that the only thing harder than getting to Incline Village is leaving Incline Village. Considering they have golf, water sports, private beaches and a great recreational lifestyle, we'd wonder why anyone would ever want to leave.
