The depth of the burn injury is difficult to understand unless you measure it accurately. Burn injuries are caused when the heat is transferred from a hot surface to human tissue. The depth of a burn injury depends on the temperature of the material, specific heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and density. How to measure these characteristics? This can be easily done using a thermesthesiometer. It is a device designed to measure the depth of burn injuries. These devices simulate the temperature in response to a human finger. The device is created using an encapsulated material, which has similar thermal properties as tissue and skin. Therm-X provides Thermesthesiometer with or without calibration with an ISO 17025 certification. The probe of the device is built-in compliance with NBS TN-816.
