In order for students to develop self-awareness, they needed to develop thinking skills associated with organization, planning and time management. Having accomplished this goal they are prepared to embark on their quest for academic mastery. Diablo Valley Educational Therapy works with students to acquire study skills and thinking skills required to reach academic excellence. Study skills are introduced using actual curriculum from the student’s classroom. Each study skill introduced builds sequentially into a customized tool kit that fits their learning profile strengths. Diablo Valley Educational Therapy introduces students to a memory model that explores the process of forming long term memories. Diablo Valley Educational Therapy guides students to practice learning processes that results in the formation of long-term sustainable memories. These stable long-term memories are the foundation for future learning by providing the context for new concepts and skills. In addition, students are coached to perform pre-assessments of their readiness for any school examination.  Through repeated practice students will accurately predict their test performance and be able to conduct post-assessment analysis that will provide input to incrementally improve test preparation. Diablo Valley Educational Therapy has completed their student coaching of academic mastery when they demonstrate their ability to draft their own effective study routine, execute their study routine, predict an accurate pre-assessment outcome and conduct a post-assessment analysis
