Morro Bay Real Estate - Cayucos Real Estate - Los Osos Real Estate - Cambria Real Estate
More Reasons to live in Morro Bay, Los Osos or Cayucos:
Historically, no damaging earthquakes, no wildfires, no tsunamis, no blizzards, no ice storms, no snow days, no riots, no unsafe neighborhoods, no hurricanes, no tornadoes, no water spouts and no terrorist attacks...to name a few!
Bayshore Realty is a locally owned Morro Bay real estate company staffed by longtime residents of Morro Bay, Cayucos, Los Osos, or Cambria. My name is Dan Reddell. I founded Bayshore Realty in 1997 after a building and real estate career that started in 1970 when I graduated from Cal Poly. I personally selected the staff from people whom I have known a long time and can trust completely. Our goal is to provide the best possible customer service. I do not have a single agent that would put a commission ahead of the customer's best interest. Most of us have lived in all the local communities at one time or another. Whether it is Morro Bay real estate, Cayucos real estate, Cambria real estate, or Los Osos real estate, the Bayshore Realty team knows the market, knows real estate, and knows how to please our customers.
Many purchasers of Morro Bay Real estate, Cayucos real estate and Cambria real estate are very interested in renting out their properties as vacation rentals. Purchasers of Los Osos Real Estate seem to favor full-time rentals because Los Osos is residence to so many folks who work in San Luis Obispo. For these reasons, I formed Bayshore Rentals to complement Bayshore Realty. This strategy has worked out very well and even gives customers who want to check out the coast housing market an alternative to staying local hotels and motels. They can stay in a real house while they look for a new house.
The beautiful thing about turning a second home into a vacation rental is being able to stay in your home and rent it out when you aren't using it. If owning a vacation home interests you, call Bayshore Rentals for information on what you can expect to make from rent. Because some vacation renters have abused their privileges by upsetting neighbors by doing such things as parking too many car on the street, coastal communities have developed policies concerning vacation rentals. Morro Bay has no restrictions on turning your house into a vacation rental. All you have to do is apply for a City permit. Cayucos will only allow new vacation rentals if there are no existing vacation rentals within a 200 foot perimeter. We pride ourselves on the care we give our vacation rentals. We work with owners to make sure the home is in the kind of condition that will make renters happy so they will return again and again. We work with renters to make sure they have the most pleasant vacation possible. We have contractors who will take care of almost any problem no matter what time or day or holiday. Not only will we help you find the perfect vacation rental, we will maintain it, rent it and send you the money.
Are you interested in building? This is a topic we can talk about for a long time. Many coastal communities have restrictions on building. Morro Bay real estate is an exception. There are no building moratoriums in Morro Bay at the moment. There have been in the past. In 1976, the Coastal Commission inflicted a moratorium on building in Morro Bay that lasted five years. To get a building permit in Morro Bay today, all you have to do is take in a set of plans and apply, just as you would in any California city. Getting a permit on Cayucos real estate is a different matter. You have to have a water permit to build. It is very difficult to obtain a water permit and in some areas of Cayucos it is impossible to obtain one. If you purchase Cayucos real estate to build immediately, you have to purchase a lot that already has a water allocation. Doing so is slightly more likely than finding the Holy Grail. There are four builders in our office that can guide you in your efforts to build in Morro Bay, Cayucos, or Cambria.
As far as purchasing Los Osos real estate to build on, our advice is to buy lots only as a long-term investment. Even after the sewer plant is finally built, a building moratorium is likely for a long time to come.
