History & Features of Moonlight Rollerway

The building is a historic landmark. It was built in 1940 and used for the manufacturing of airplane parts for use in World War II.
Harry Dickerman converted the building in 1950 to Harrys Roller Rink. In 1963, Clifford and Mildred Neschke purchased the building and it became Moonlight Rollerway. Dominic Cangelosi Roller Skaters' Gazette Newsletter's "2006 RS Gazette Rink Operator of the Year" took over the operation in 1985 and is the current owner and operator.
The Historic Moonlight Rollerway is the PREMIER roller-skating rink in all of Los Angeles County. Located in Glendale, CA our highlight features are the preservation of the original 1950s architectural design, inside and out. The hardwood maple floor is 75 by 170 and is over an inch thick. This floor was installed in 1950 and is still intact, with no nails! The floor is very well maintained, and the rink has a great sound system and lighting.
Moonlight Rollerway has been a mainstay for skaters in the Los Angeles area since 1950. The rink is perfect for virtually any kind of competition or event. Along with the regular skating sessions the rink hosts birthday parties, business and corporate parties, special events, skating competitions and shows, as well as filming of television shows and major movies for the entertainment industry.
Moonlight Rollerway has a world-class artistic and precision skating teams that have been a dominant force in the artistic skating world for decades. The name of their precision skating team is "Team In-Sync." Most recently Team In Sync of Glendale's Moonlight Rollerway won the 2007 National Championship in Omaha, Nebraska. Every Tuesday night, we feature "live organ music for skating" from years past on our Hammond organ. The keys are manned by well-known skating rink organist "Dominic."
Moonlight Rollerway is the rollerskating rink of choice for the entertainment industry and has been featured in more television shows and movies than any other skating rink in the world.
