Santa and tree-lighting mark the start of holiday events on Friday
The holiday season in Rancho Murieta officially begins 6 p.m. Friday with the tree-lighting ceremony at the North Gazebo sponsored by the Optimist Club. Other holiday entertainments scheduled for the following week include the Children's Theater Workshop production of "Twas the Night before Christmas" and December Nights, the Rancho Murieta Community Church's annual drama and musical event. Rancho Murieta's Volunteers in Partnership with the Sheriff are joining other VIPS to collect new, unwrapped toys to be given to low-income families in the south area of Sacramento County this holiday season. Donations can be dropped off at the James L. Noller Safety Center, located across Jackson Road from the South Gate, on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when the VIPS staff the center. Or call 354-8509 to arrange to have volunteers collect your donations. Read more »
