All Civic Theatre West productions and office operations are closed. We apologize that shows are not re-scheduled and refunds, sadly, are not possible at this time. However, please keep reading below for information on our efforts to save the theatre. Please attend this Fridays Town Hall meeting, described below, and/or check this website for further information on our next steps regarding our obligations and plans.
Civic Theatre West regrets the cessation of production last week and the sudden impact of that announcement. This has left our patrons in the lurch, and we apologize. Ticket holders for cancelled productions are among our most important outstanding obligations of the theatre. As you may have read in the press, over a year and a half of changed practices toward expenses and a cessation of borrowing was not enough to overcome historic debt, a lack of operational reserve, and the economic downturn. We apologize for all of this, and share deep sorrow over this potential loss.
HOWEVER ALL MAY NOT BE LOST! The board invites you to a TOWN HALL MEETING this Friday, November 19 at 7:00pm in the Roseville Theatre. There we will outline a plan to SAVE the theatre and to re-structure toward resumption of production with new management practices and an appropriately re-scaled program. We will also celebrate where we have come, explain our current status, and provide a way for gifts and pledges to be received and escrowed.
Our goal is $350,000. This is the amount needed to get us current with all obligations, from institutional creditors to ticketholders. Further, it provides operational revenue between the present and when revenues would resume, and an operational buffer. Since we do not want to re-start without the resources to do so completely, we will not proceed unless the goal is reached, and will return any gifts or pledges. Help us reach our goal!
