1. Plan your storage space. Place those items that you may need to access often in the front. In the Larger units it is best to allow for walk-ways so you can access your belongings.

2. Prepare you space by placing a protective cover on the floor under you goods. You may wish to place your storage items on pallets to guard against dampness. Any concrete floor may become cold or damp.

1. CAUTION: Do not store anything COMBUSTIBLE (i.e. Paint thinner, gasoline, solvents, paints, etc.)

2. To prevent bug infestation and rodents, no food or food items should be stored.

1. Make up an inventory of your items and keep it in a safe place at home or in a safe deposit box.

2. Use uniform size boxes for easy stacking. Be sure your boxes are strong enough to hold 25 to 30 lbs. (It is best not to put too much in each box, especially books and paper, due to their weight.)

3. List contents of boxes on all four sides; number the boxes and seal with tape.

4. Dishes and glasses should be wrapped in paper, bubble wrap, or clean towels and packed in sturdy boxes. Stack them on the top, make sure they are not too far above your head or you have a higher risk of dropping them when you move out of your unit.

5. Pictures and mirrors should be wrapped in cardboard marked FRAGILE and stacked on end.

6. Tables with removable legs should be broken down to save space and wear and tear on table legs. Wrap the legs to protect them and a flat cardboard box can be fastened to the table top to protect from scratches during the move.

7. Sofas and love sets can sometimes be stored on end to save floor space. It is important that you do not stack rounded edged couches on end or you risk reshaping the edges. Make sure they are fully supported, top of couch facing a wall to minimize bowing of the couch. Always place a protective cover under the item on concrete. Cushions may be wrapped in plastic and placed on top or you may wish to use a jumbo plastic storage bag on these items.

8. Cover stuffed furniture with cardboard, plastic or blankets to protect against dust.

9. If you stand mattresses on their side, prop them up so they stand straight. They tend to bend out of shape and become lumpy, if not properly supported.

10. Do not place heavy or sharp objects on top of upholstered or leather furniture.

11. Put TVs and other electronics in the rear of your unit.

12. Stack Lighter boxes on top of heavier boxes.

1. Furniture with drawers can be utilized as storage places for pictures, knick-knacks, china, silverware, small items, etc. Wrap them in tablecloths, towels or blankets to prevent breakage.

2. Larger appliances make excellent packing cases for blankets, towels, tablecloths and clothes.

3. Shovels, hoes, rakes and hoses can be stored together in empty trash cans. Stack extra cans inside each other.

We recommend a disk type steel lock for all units!

Recommend friends or family members to Concord Self Storage and we will send you a check for $50 when they move-in.
