book: Yucatan Passages
For the last eight years Robert Hansen has traveled the back roads of the Yucatan Peninsula searching out remote Mayan ruin sites, haciendas, abandoned churches and generally immersing himself into the Mayan culture. The Center Gallery, in conjunction with Laguna Wilderness Press, is proud to present a collection of photographs and journal entries made from these extensive travels. fine art photography
Fine art photography has been an essential element of Robert Hansen’s 25-year professional career, along with commercial work and teaching. A 1978 graduate of the Brooks Institute, he also received the “Theisen Scholarship” award for excellence in photojournalism.
His fine-art exhibitions include 22 continuous years in the prestigious, juried “Festival of the Arts, Pageant of the Masters” in Laguna Beach, California. He is currently represented by galleries in Chicago IL, Santa Fe NM, and Newport Beach CA.
classes and workshops
Robert Hansen’s classes and workshops are jointly sponsored by the Center Gallery and PhotoGeo.com. This program offers a variety of learning opportunities combining basic and advanced photographic techniques with field instruction in regional geology, landscapes and natural history. Workshops are held in the field or at the Center Gallery in San Juan Capistrano. See this section for class descriptions, schedule, and online registration.

Robert Hansen has been an active commercial photographer for over 25 years. He specializes in architectural interior and exterior photography as well as small product photography, editorial illustration, and custom printing. He has won four prestigious Gold Nugget awards (one Grand Award), given annually by the Pacific Coast Builders’s Conference (PCBC).
His client list includes Pac Bell, Carl’s Jr. Restaurants, Denny’s, AT&T, Coldwell Banker, Spieker properties, MVE Architects, Ware Malcomb Architects, Snyder/Langston Builders, Equity Office, The Irvine Company and many small businesses.
the Center Gallery
The Center Gallery of San Juan Capistrano, California is a photographic gallery and teaching facility with photographic exhibitions curated by Robert Hansen. The gallery exhibits works by many internationally recognized photographers including Bruce Barnbaum, Ray McSavaney, Jerry Uelsmann, Jeff Francis, John Collett, and Robert Hansen.
Gallery hours are 9am–5pm on Saturdays and by appointment.
