SCS delivers a full spectrum of solid waste engineering services including siting and designing landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities. We prepare solid waste management plans and recycling studies. Our landfill gas practice is one of the world’s largest, including design, construction, and operation of a variety of control and alternative energy systems.

SCS solves solid waste, hazardous waste, and Superfund problems. Many of the approaches we pioneered years ago -- risk based cleanups, voluntary cleanups, accelerated investigations, presumptive remedies, strategic environmental management, and waste minimization -- are now commonly accepted in the industry.

SCS provides turnkey environmental engineering, construction, and associated operation, monitoring, and maintenance services for environmental systems at landfills, government sites, commercial and industrial properties, and residential developments.

SCS has been specializing in redevelopment of closed landfill sites and other forms of Brownfields redevelopment since the firm's inception in 1970. SCS SECURE, our full-service Brownfields redevelopment services group, offers our clients integrated real estate, site renewal, and risk transfer solutions including mitigation design, construction, operations, maintenance, and monitoring.

SCS is proud to be a leader in management of landfill gas (LFG) and the development of energy recovery systems for both the public and private sectors. Our firm has helped develop, design, install, operate, and troubleshoot LFG collection and utilization systems at hundreds of waste disposal sites in North America, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.
