Christ the Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation
of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA and the Santa Clara Valley Lutheran Parish.
Christ the Good Shepherd is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. We welcome all people to join us in worship and fellowship, including those who may have been alienated by society or other congregations. We affirm with the apostle Paul that in Christ, "there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for all are one in Christ Jesus" (Gal. 3:28)
We have been asked by the Lords Pantry at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church to provide gifts for six year olds (25 girls and 25 boys) this Christmas Season. During the year the Lords Pantry provided food for 35 to 60 low income families a day. Every year they provide food for many families at Christmas and in addition to this they make an effort to have a gift for their clients children from newborn through 13 years of age. Many of the families are referred to them from Second Harvest food bank. If you would like to take part in this project you can take a card off our Christmas giving tree in the narthex and bring a new unwrapped toy or game for a boy or girl as indicated and place it under the tree. The dead line for the gifts will be Sunday December 19. If you would like to donate some food also the following are the items needed:
Cranberry sauce, Canned pumpkin, Evaporated milk, Pkg. gravy mix, Stuffing mix, Stove top dressing, Canned broth, Canned sweet potatoes, Canned fruit and vegetables
Food items can be placed under the tree also.
