* 1982 graduate from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles and San Francisco
* 20 years' experience in couture fashion design business
In 1985, Ingeborg established her couture fashion design studio, which seems more appropriate for a Parisian Avenue than Cowper Street in Palo Alto. Her life calling happened at a very early age in the Black Forest of Germany. As a small child, Ingeborg expressed herself through sketching fashion ideas that her mother constructed into garments.
"I owe all my talent to my mother who was a couture fashion designer in Germany."
As an apprentice to her mother, Ingeborg learned the art of knitting, sewing and design. She worked with her mother until adulthood, coming to the United States to pursue her career.
Attention to detail is key to any Ingeborg design. The fit has to be perfect, and at times that may mean hand stitching parts of the garment, just as her mother taught her. The perfect fit enhances and flatters the contours of the body, and ultimately brings the beauty of the individual into focus.
Through her years of experience and her natural talent, Ingeborg has built an outstanding reputation for superb quality, excellent design, perfect fit and a loyal following. Please refer to the Testimonial section for clients' comments on their experience and satisfaction with garments designed by Ingeborg.
In addition to her loyal clientele, both the San Jose Mercury News and the publication Gentry have interviewed and highlighted Ingeborg and the couture designs she creates. Both articles noted the high quality of her work and the uniqueness of a personal haute couture design studio here in the Bay Area.
