Welcome to Azad's Martial Arts Family Center! For the past 25 years Azad's Martial Arts Center has been teaching martial arts education to thousands of children and adults of all ages in the Chico area. Ever since then we have helped our students join their favorite style of martial arts training and enjoy one of the most empowering and positively life changing experiences of their life time. Our International award-winning leadership team of instructors have been committed to serving our community with very high quality martial arts instruction in the North State.
Our adults martial arts, and children programs alike have made Azad's center in Chico a place of excellent work out and long lasting friendships for hundreds of families in our community. Our commitment to our community has taught thousands of adults and children to choose a life style that includes healthy living, civic mindedness and giving back to our community, choosing to be a role model and lead by example, focusing on positive goals even at a young age, learning the spirit of cooperation and team work within the family and community, making strong and positive choices when faced with tough decisions, developing deep level of compassion for the less fortunate or those in trouble, appreciating that there is a lesson in everything we are faced with in our day to day life, learning that the journey of a thousand miles starts by our first step or simply the action we take right now, developing a spirit of always being a part of the solution just to name a few.

Azad's Martial Arts Family Center is an extraordinary martial arts education center with multiple curriculums based on positive mental attitude, effective self defense, non-violent conflict resolution and the "Bully Buster" program, commitment to sustainablility, civic mindedness and the "Acts of Kindness" program, and other innovative concepts, personal and community empowerment from years of martial arts teaching by Chief Master Azad.
Azad's Martial Arts Family Center is also the only school in the Northern California that has teamed up with The Martial Arts For Peace Association which promotes peaceful methods of conflict resolution through martial arts training.
Azad's Center is affiliated with over 5,000 schools world-wide, and is a member in excellent standing of the Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA), the United States Martial Arts Association, Global Hapkido Legacy Group, World Hapkido Association, and many other accredited, highly reputable organizations. The school's owner and founder is Chief Master Farshad Azad who holds a seventh degree (7th dan) black belt, and has been studying various forms of martial arts for over 36 years.
Located at the corner of 4th Street and Walnut Street (Nord Ave/Hwy 32), Azad's Martial Arts Family Center of Chico is Butte County's premier location for martial arts and self-defense training for all age groups and families.
Our state-of-the-art, Northern California dojo facility features classes is equipped with the best floor mats in the world used at the Olympics, World Martial Arts Competitions, MMA Competitions, and Judo and HapkidoTournaments all around the world. Our goal is to provide our students with the best of everything. We believe in discipline therefore we keep the school in tip top clean condition at all times. Clean locker rooms, clean and modern children's play room, fully air conditioned facility, ample free on--site lit parking spaces, and easy access from Hwy 32 allows all of our students to enjoy their martial arts time over here at Azad's.
Our school is open six days a week and classes are taught by instructors trained in multiple disciplines such as Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi Chuan, Sinmoo, Iaido, Jung Suwon, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Ju Jisu, Kobudo traditional martial arts weapons, Okinawan Karate Filipino Martial Arts, Modern Arnis, Escrima, Boxing, Muay Thai, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, and the latest wrestling, grappling, and throwing techniques.
We offer over 60 classes per week in different systems of martial arts for children and adults of all ages. In addition, we offer an in-house, full-service pro shop where you can buy uniforms and any other martial arts supplies you need.
