The park is a four and-a-half hour drive from San Francisco and a six-hour drive from Los Angeles.
Yosemite Valley is accessible by car all year. Scenic Route Highway 140 follows the Merced River Canyon from Mariposa into Yosemite Valley, and it is the all-year-all weather route into Yosemite.
