Our philosophy is to provide personal and friendly eye care, in a comfortable setting, with sufficient time for questions and answers, using advanced technologyand diagnostic skills, excellent medical and surgical management, and superior service.

As a result, our practice has grown in many ways, including this new website that featuresa substantial Patient Education Center, online appointment requestsand online forms. Soonyou will also havetheablity to order contacts and pay bills online.

I have also added a section called Eye Health News where you will find current topics of interest ranging from technological breakthroughs aimed at curing blindness to FDA recalls of contact lens products. Please consider bookmarking our site for future reference.

The practice has expanded in other ways, too. In July 2009, we relocated to a larger suite where we now offer a full service Optical Shop that features the latest in lens and frame technologies yet offers pricing for most budgets.

We are also converting our paper charts (i.e., your medical record) to electronic medical records and electronic medical prescriptions. This will save a tremendous amount of paper and redundancy and itwill allow us to communicate with your other doctors and pharmacy directly without paper. I believe this will ultimately provide efficiencies and other benefits to patients and physicians alike.

Our staff has grown, too. I hope you will welcome our new doctor, Peter Chang, M.D., also a Stanford trained ophthalmologist who underwent specialized training in glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is recognized as one of the worlds finest centers for ophthalmic care, research and education. He is glaucoma specialist who is kind and caring. He will provide you with the care and service that sets us apart.

I am pleased to announce that Peter Chang, M.D. has joined my ophthalmology practice.

He earnedhis doctor of medicine from Johns Hopkins, completed ophthalmology residency at Stanford, and glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

I am confident he shares my principles in caring for patients and that you will find him to be a warm, compassionate, well-trained ophthalmologist.

Our name is changing to South Bay Ophthalmology
With growth comes other changes, including changing the name of my medical practice, from Edward J. Saub, M.D. to South Bay Ophthalmology, Inc.

One thing has not changed, my dedication to providing you the level of care you have come to expect from me.

Optical Shop Open
Our new in-house full service optical shop is now open! Let us take responsibility for your new glasses.

We have partnered with the best frame designers as well as the industry's best lens manufactures and labs. We offer the latest lens technologies, including digitally-surfaced and free-form lens design, as well as standard lenses.

Our service is individualized so that your particular visual needs are fully addressed. Surprising to most, we also offer value frame-lens packages similar in price to large retailers but uncomparable when it comes to service.

On July 24, 2010our office closed for the weekend and we reopened July 27 inSuite 408- same address, just a new suite number and closer to the parking lot.

The larger office allows us to provide new services, including eyeglass fitting and dispensing.

Our telephone number, office hours, and street address have not changed.
