Black Oak Books is open for business at 2618 San Pablo Ave.
This is between Parker St. and Carleton St., two blocks south of Dwight

While we do buy books for $$. we will not (generally speaking) be buying during the Christmas season from November 1 to Dec 25 - except of course in special circumstances or for very special libraries!

The former Rountree's R & B Club is now the permanent home of Black Oak Books HC. It's located between Parker and Carleton Streets on San Pablo Avenue, two blocks south of Dwight. This vintage building has been transformed into our new store which is 30% larger than our old store.
Every day we are adding used books to our shelves; in a few more months, after we have unboxed the many thousands of books we have accumulated since our Shattuck aAe store was forced to close, we will have many more used books for sale than we had at our old locations and our used book prices now reflect our lower costs!

But after Dec. 25 we will go back to our normal pattern of buying books on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-6 and by appointment at other times. Please note our book buys are done on a first-come, first-served basis. You may have the option of leaving your books for evaluation if you bring in a large quantity of books (more than 4 bags/boxes). We are also available, by appointment only, to evaluate home or academic libraries. Please contact us by phone or email for details.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
