We believe a computer should be a tool to help you do something amazing and not a big problem that gives you headaches and waists your time. We believe that through our service and education our customers will have an easier time with their computers and get on to using them for what they were intended for.

LAPTOP/DESKTOP PCSERVICE - Both hardware and software are available. Common hardwarerepairs are DC-Jack replacements, broken screens, inverters and cooling systems. Software jobs include virus removal, OS upgrades, OS reinstalls and program configuration.
CUSTOM BUILT COMPUTERS - Yes, its still popular! Although you can purchase a computer from a well known manufacturer like Dell or HP that is configured and designed to run fast and be efficient, it is still a lot of fun to custom design your own system. Doing this can familiarize yourself with the nuts and bolts of your computer. You'll have a much better understanding about how it is designed and how it will hold up. The most important component to consider is your motherboard and more immportantly the chipset on your motherboard. More on this subject to come.
DATA RECOVERY - The most common job we do here is with hard drives. Your computers hard drive is spinning at 5-10 thousand RPM's for as long as you have it on. For me that is all the time. All of your information is riding on a set of ball bearings. If it runs too hot the grease will melt away and then your bearings will score. The will make the platters in the hard drive wobble and then your head will crash into the disk. And that's just one way a hard drive can fail. This is a good time to mention that a current backup is paramount, enough said. At CaliforniaTECH we have a few methods of retrieving the data and if we aren't successfull we have other options available. Although they are quite costly it may be worth it in some cases.
