Following are some ideas and resources we feel can help you and your pet stay safe, well and happy:
1) If you aren't really qualified to be a breeder, please don't be. Have your pet spayed or neutered (it doesn't make them any less fun, active or real, honest).
2) Whether you have a new Pup or seasoned family member, GOOD manners in and out of the house are important to you all. Training and obedience is important to dog control and safety and whether it is a first time class or a refresher course, training classes are a great way to have fun and keep problem behaviors from developing (or getting out of hand).
3) Be sure you and your dog(s) have a good relationship with your vet. A preventative annual check up is always a good idea and keep current on your shots (whether for boarding, travel or just to avoid seasonal colds etc).
4) Always have identification tags on your pal. Disasters and unexpected trips from the yard can happen and tags help prevent a long worrisome separation. We are happy to provide FREE temporary tags to anyone and have great permanent tags available as well.
5) Keep a disaster kit on hand with some basic vet supplies, food, blanket and vet records you can grab and run with if you have to.
6) It sounds a bit odd, but have you considered your pet in your will? You can find pet will example on line and it doesn't hurt to include them in your planning so the shelter doesn't have to sort out your pets future in your absence.
Don't forget to consider your dogs diet and the food you are providing. Fortunately for SitSpot customers and guests, we carry only the highest grade of foods and treats available including: Merrick, Canidae, Great Life and Wellness, but there are a lot of foods available and if you remember last year, MANY can be a concern.
If you have any questions regarding foods that were impacted by last year's tragic manufacturing mistake, please visit:http://www.menufoods.com/recall/index.html
Following is a list of recalled canned and pouch-packaged foodsthat was published as a result of last year's per food scandle.
