A Night in New Orleans
On Saturday evening, October 16th, the 2010 Homecoming Fall Formal, “A Night in New Orleans”, was in full swing. The Combie gym was
wonderfully decorated with a round center stage, a cobblestoned street
lined with lampposts, silhouettes of jazz musicians lining the wall,
beautiful plants, and a picture corner. Students were greeted with
amazing colors and jazz music as each one arrived in a mask.
The Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Mack who helped to keep the evening flowing. The food catered by Kevin Kauer was amazing; possibly the
best Forest Lake has ever been treated to at a Homecoming event. The
students were entertained with various games including a mask contest,
making a musical instrument out of random objects, and an upper body

Hearts of Compassion
On Tuesday, October the 19th, the Forest Lake Christian School Community joined thousands of individuals from countries all around the world in showing their support for the “voice of the unborn” by participating in the seventh annual “Day of Silence”. Bryan Kemper of Stand True Ministries seeded this idea of encouraging students to spend a day in silent reflection considering the plight of the unborn who are unable to speak for…or defend themselves. In spite of an admittedly discouraging beginning to this idea in 2004, the 2010 “Day of Silence” was a very successful Pro-Life endeavor.
A number of our high school students attended an event held in Sacramento over the Labor Day weekend referred to as “The Call”.
