OUR NEW LEADER
Mike Drobot announced today that he has completed transactions to re-purchase Pacific Hospital of Long Beach from Dr. Tino Bernadett, the same man to whom he sold the Hospital five years ago.
Dr. Bernadett has made a decision that owning a hospital no longer fits his professional and personal objectives. He has been clear that PHLB continues to be a very fine Hospital and wishes us the best in our future pursuits.
As we all know, Mike Drobot has never left PHLB. He has continued to function as CEO and minority owner of PHLB and Healthsmart Pacific, Inc. during this last five years, leading the executive and corporate teams of the two entities.
Since Mike has been so closely integrated into the Hospital, the strategies, the programs, the staff and the overall general direction will not change. While he has complete confidence in PHLB's future, the financial challenges of running a successful hospital in today's world are as high as ever. We will have to continue our focus on this vital element of our enterprise.
While things won't really change much, we all welcome Mike back in this new capacity and look forward to contributing to his vision for PHLB.
