Fall in Tahoe
Tahoe in the fall can be a wonderful time for a vacation. The days are warm, the nights cool and the colors are beautiful. It's warm enough to go on a bike ride, take a hike, sit by the lake, and then sit by a fire in the evening. And there's plenty to do. The Lake Tahoe Marathon is at the end of September and there are several Octoberfests held around the lake. By October the weather is a bit cooler, making it a perfect time for beer. The Kokanee Salmon Festival is also held in October. The running of the salmon up Taylor Creek is a fun time for everyone in the family.
A must-see in the fall is Hope Valley. The valley is full of aspen trees and they positively explode with color, running from gold to orange to red. You can pack a lunch, drive to the valley and take a hike. Or have breakfast or lunch at Sorenson's or the Hope Valley Center, then view the colors at your leisure. Don't forget your camera!
