Just ten miles from where James W. Marshall discovered gold at Sutters Mill, the Placerville Seventh-day Adventist conducted their first church service on April 11, 1883. The little company gradually increased and was recognized by the California Conference District No. 5 on June 24, 1893 as an official church. After a couple years of meeting in private homes, Grange Hall and the Confidence Hall on Main Street, two members were named as a committee to investigate the purchase of the Jewish Synagogue, which was offered to them for a selling price of $400. It was determined that the building was too small and on March 6, 1895, they executed a contract to build the first Placerville Seventh-day Adventist Church for $675.
Our current church building was first occupied on Christmas 1971; since then our membership has grown to 771. We communicate the good news of Gods unconditional love while serving our community in the name of Jesus.
Our Lead Pastor, Ron Mellor, his wife Valerie, and sons Justin and Landon. Landon will be attending El Dorado Adventist School as a freshman.
Associate Pastor Roy Hager and his wife Susan are very active in the spiritual growth of each of our members for the past fourteen years. The Hagers have two sons, Jonathan and Jason who also attend El Dorado Adventist School and a daughter, Jessica.
Our Saturday services are open to all, with Bible study starting at 9:30am and Worship Services beginning at 10:45am. You are welcome to spend Sabbath with us in fellowship. If you can't visit us in person, take a few minutes to view our Church's Newsletter, Bulletin, History and Beliefs.
We are dedicated to support and encourage individuals to grow, to love, to accept and to forgive one another in the spirit of Jesus.
