BREAKING THROUGH: CHANGING THE STORY WE TELL OURSELVES ABOUT OURSELVES - Forum, Sunday, 9:00 a.m., November 14. Canon Thomas concludes the three-part forum series engaging the challenge of breaking through barriers, with an explicit focus on spirituality. Canon Harris will host the series and contribute his observations as an expert in personal finances in reference to our on-going Stewardship journey.

DORCAS HOUSE TRIPS - Our next two Saturday visits to Dorcas House, our home for foster children in Tijuana, are on Nov. 13, and Dec 18 (Christmas show). Meet in our parking lot (2728 Sixth Ave) at 11:30 AM; we'll return to San Diego by 6:00 PM. (Meeting time for Dec 18 trip is TBD.) Whether you attend every trip or just one, it is always a memorable and rewarding experience. Bring about $30 to cover transportation, insurance, parking and lunch (no one is turned away for lack of funds). A valid passport is required. The Urban Collective: 20s & 30s @Saint Paul's-We are an informal group of 20- and 30-somethings at St. Paul's who get together to share our different takes on life, faith, and the spirit. Everyone is always welcome at any of our events:
Crêpes For Dorcas House-Sunday, Nov 14, 4:30 - 6:30 PM at Fabrison's Crêperie, 1425 India St. in Little Italy. For the past several months, Fabrison's Crêperie in Little Italy has been holding extended hours once a month, during which all proceeds go to Dorcas House, a shelter home in Tijuana sponsored by St. Paul's. The Urban Collective is hosting November's event but all are welcome to drop by any time between 4:30 and 6:30 to support a good cause.

PAUL, FROM SINNER TO SAINT - St. Paul's Senior Homes & Services invites you for a delightful evening with Dr. Bill Creasy on Saturday, November 13 as he presents a lecture on the life of St. Paul. Of all the personalities we meet in the Bible, Paul is among the most interesting-and the most enigmatic. Learn how Paul moves from being the great persecutor of the Church to being one of its greatest saints-and the patron saint of this Cathedral. Dr. Creasy served on the English faculty at UCLA for more than 20 years and has taught Bible classes for decades. Come see why the San Diego Union-Tribune calls him "the Garrison Keillor" of Bible teachers. At 4:30 PM there's a Champagne and Wine Reception in the Great Hall, and Dr. Creasy's presentation in the Cathedral is at 6:00 PM. Tickets: $30 ($15 age ≤16). DORCAS HOUSE MATCHING GRANT UPDATE - Wow! A total of $79,619 (including the matching grant) was raised for the children of Dorcas House thanks to many donors. Examples of generosity include an eight-year-old girl who raised $88 by asking her friends to bring a donation for Dorcas House instead of presents to her birthday party; a parishioner who convinced Sycuan to contribute $10,000; an Anglican parish in northern California; and Christ Church, Coronado, which gave $6,444. Thank you to the generous donor who supplied the matching grant, and thank you to the more than 204 donors (including 90 new donors who gave $24,300) who, with the matching grant, doubled our support and love for the children. Together we are making a significant difference in the lives of the children, and they, in turn, are making a different in their community. Thank you!

WANTED-Music for Youth We are working to add music to our youth programs in many different areas. If you can donate a working player for CDs/tape or an iPod with speakers, please bring it to the church office and we'll make very good use of it in our youth classrooms.
