Small Business Services, Inc. (SBS) is a local accounting/bookkeeping service with over 300 clients. We have served the San Diego market for over twenty years through several owners. Bookkeeping services are provided to a broad spectrum of small businesses and individuals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis depending on client needs. These services include financial statement compilation; sales tax, property tax and payroll tax preparation; a full line of payroll services; income tax preparation & problem resolution; and financial planning and consulting services.

Our clients include sole proprietors, partnerships, LLCs, S-corporations, traditional corporations and non-profits. Their businesses range from on-line wholesale & retail, personal health care, restaurants, contractors, auto mechanics and dealerships, corner markets and liquor stores, real estate brokers and management, jewelry and pawn-shops, doctors, attorneys, landscaping, publishing, and many others. Services are supported with expertise in QuickBooks and a host of other tax preparation, write-up and spreadsheet software platforms on a localized network.

George Beck acquired Small Business Services in August 2003. His extensive financial services background includes over 21 years of increasingly complex roles in corporate America, culminating with his role as Corporate Treasurer for a $1.6 billion per year international steel producer where he was responsible for all SEC filings, investor relations, pension fund management, debt and equity placement (IPO and public bond offerings), mergers and acquisitions, developing financial training and management reporting. Prior to his seven-year tenure at Gerdau Ameristeel (NYSE GNA), he served as Corporate Controller for the largest steamship agency in the Americas; Accounting and Audit Manager for Hertz Penske on the west coast; and as staff Accountant and Financial Analyst previous to that. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University in 1982. His broad corporate background includes international accounting, multi-state payroll and tax, numerous accounting system design and implementations, staff management, budgeting and just about everything else related to corporate finance and accounting!
