Improving the quality of life of residents in Pasadena and its neighboring communities
through the free loan of wheelchairs and other medical equipment for in-home use since 1923.
We bring together a caring community where you will meet those who need the equipment we offer and the generous friends who donate both
needed items and funds so we can serve more families.
We believe that recovering, or convalescing, in
the privacy of your own home offers respect and dignity during a time of personal need. We want
to be your partner at this moment of your life.
CAS Volunteers Corps Needs You!
Like the Marines, CAS needs a few good people. If you can make a commitment to assist CAS in the office or warehouse regularly for a few hours each week, we want to hear from you.
CAS especially needs volunteers to serve in the following areas:
CAS Greeter: Meets clients at the door, answers their questions about our services and directs them to the right staff member. This position requires a warm personality and great "people skills."
Phone Assistant: Answers the phone and responds to clients’ questions about CAS services. Phone assistants will also help with making the 900 plus follow-up calls each month to clients to assure that the equipment is still being used and is needed.
Data Entry: Volunteers with basic computer skills are needed to assist with data entry of client applications, equipment inventory, donations, and other information.
Warehouse Assistant: Two or more volunteers are needed to go out in the CAS van and pick up donations of light equipment. These volunteers must have a valid California drivers license and be able to do some moderate lifting of equipment.
Professional Services: Gifts-in-kind in the form of the donation of professional services such as computer maintenance and programming; plumbing and electrical repair; or printing are especially welcome.
