"For therapy to work I believe that the therapist really needs to care about, and feel connected to, the individuals he or she works with. My work is about understanding the people I work with at a deep level. This is not just a business or a job; helping people get better and live their life in a fuller happier way is my passion.
It is my belief that therapy should be conducted in a manner designed to meet your specific needs. Each person is an individual; your personality needs to be considered when a therapist works with you. I help people to work through the issues that prevent them from pursuing the life goals they desire. Sometimes I help people to examine the patterns of the family they grew up in, and sometimes I work with people on more current issues of their everyday life. The approach I use depends on what is getting in the way of their feeling happy and living life in a fulfilling manner.
My style is to be active and responsive during the session. I don't avoid discussions or questions during sessions. Unlike the media's standard portrayal of therapists, I don't believe in answering a question with a question. It is my belief that the client knows best what they need to discuss and what they need to work on. I provide feedback and interpretations of the client's inner experiences and behavior as appropriate. I am a caring, warm, person who is able to help individuals by shedding light on patterns that people develop and I do this in a safe environment."
