What is Shindenkan Budo All About?
Our Budo Kensho or Martial Charter outlines the values we teach and do our best to live by.
These values are:

Article 1: Cultivate Character
The object of Budo is to cultivate character, enrich the ability to make value judgments, and foster a well-disciplined and capable individual through participation in physical and mental training utilizing martial techniques.
Article 2: Train Daily - Unity of Mind and Body
Consistency is key. As you dedicate even just a little time every day toward improving yourself results come, but remember that the skill of a martial artist doesnt depend on consistent practice alone, but on a determination to never become complacent.

Humility can be defined as being teachable. It isnt our goal to diminish ones prior training and experience, but rather add to it. A student must not let personal pride interfere with their possibility for growth.

The dojo is a sacred place for training ones mind and body. Here, one must maintain discipline, proper etiquette, and formality. The training area must be a quiet, clean, safe and solemn environment.
Article 5: Role Model
The best way to teach is by example. Everywhere we go we are being judged by the little things we do. Understand that everything we do can influence others in a positive or negative way.

We show our respect to the art by doing what we can to give back to it. Whether by promoting the art, teaching a class, or simply helping to maintain the cleanliness of our dojo we can each in our own way contribute to the betterment of the art.

This is what Shindenkan Budo is all about. Our goal is to have a positive affect on as many people as possible by teaching them to discipline themselves and train daily that they might cultivate their character in a way that a role model should and remain humble as they contribute back to their teachers, friends, family and society.
