The Grange is a part of a national organization, the "Patrons of Husbandry", the oldest agricultural fraternity in the United States which began in 1867. Bayside Grange # 500 itself was chartered by 35 individuals on October 17th, 1932. Members are very active in fostering partnerships with community organizations that makes us all more resilient through offering diverse programming and services. They are folks from many walks of life including musicians, gardeners, and administrators.

The Grange as a space, represents the "Commons" in neighborhoods across the country. We and our renters host breakfasts, dances and educational events that create places of encounter where we get to know our neighbors and discuss the news of the day. While fostering civic engagement we encourage neighbors and colleagues to run for elected office and then lobby them to fix the pot holes in the road.

Becoming a Grange member means that you'll be part of a community of friends and a national association.

Grange members and guests from the community gather on the 1st Monday each month at 7:00 PM to discuss upcoming events, programs, fundraisers and work projects. Anyone is welcome to attend.
