Genie Scientific, the Southern California leader in the fume hood, lab casework and steel laboratory furniture industry, announced the completion and installation of its largest fume hood ever constructed. Measuring 14' tall 23' wide and 5' deep it was built for MECS Global of Chesterfield Missouri.

Doubling the size of a standard Genie walk-in the doors stand 14' tall and the fume hood is equipped with 148 120V electrical outlets, 12 220V electrical outlets, four vapor tight fluorescent light fixtures and four stainless steel duct collars. It has a 2" stainless steel containment tray topped with a 1.5" Strongwell fiberglass grating designed to allow workers to safely stand inside the hood. They will be using the hood to conducting environmental testing.
