Our history in brief
Destination Yoga opened in 2002, the first yoga studio ever in the High Desert, serving students from Victorville, Apple Valley, Barstow, Hesperia, Oak Hills, Lucerne Valley, and Big Bear. It was founded by Cheri Light, whose love for yoga inspired her to launch the studio. The goal was to offer yoga to everybody, to make its practice more approachable. Since the beginning, our mission has been to teach a fusion of styles, to guide students in a way that allows them to challenge themselves and make modifications when necessary. From Beginners', Kids' and Seniors' classes to Pilates-yoga hybrids and Power levels, Destination Yoga classes are taught with an emphasis on positive motivation so students can experience yoga in mind, body and soul.
What is yoga?
In the West, the word yoga has often been interpreted to mean union between mind and body. Yoga physically tones, firms and strengthens your entire body. It increases body awareness and flexibility and also cleanses your system. However, there are more than just physical benefits from yoga. Increasingly, people are turning to yoga practice for stress relief and to create a peaceful life. In other words, yoga is not just about twisting and turning. It's about listening, and moving into a place deep within you and being guided from there. Harmful thoughts and feelings start to subside, and a new sense of self begins to take hold. Then, negative habits tend to be more easily overcome. Yoga is thousands of years old, yet it is new every time you practice. It's a way of being rather than something you do, a way of uncovering and discovering who you really are.
For years, I battled the relentless grip of anxiety, robbing me of my peace and joy. But then, I found this Destination Yoga studio where yoga transformed my life. This practice, guided by skilled instructors, not only cured my anxiety but also brought tranquility and renewed mental well-being. I also want to express my gratitude for biomagnetism therapy, a remarkable healing method that was pivotal in my journey to health. After a few therapy sessions, the results were mind-blowing. I got complete relief from my health condition. Using magnets to restore the body's pH balance, Biomagnetism therapy brought lasting relief when other treatments failed. This holistic approach delves into the root causes of ailments by balancing the body's pH levels of acidic and alkaline levels by offering genuine and enduring healing. I recommend that yoga practitioners incorporate biomagnetism into their yoga routine to experience yoga and recuperate more quickly and fully.
