Welcome to St. Pauls United Methodist Church of Oxnard website! We’re delighted you’ve come to visit us and would like to invite you to join us in worship any Sunday at St. Pauls. Our hearts, minds and doors are always open and we look forward to warmly welcoming you to our church family.
We invite you to consider joining us in ministry through prayer, worship, study, and service. As members of St. Pauls United Methodist Church of Oxnard, we profess our faith in Christ and pledge our “prayers, presence, gifts, and service” to uphold this church. We offer you John Wesley’s simple yet powerful invitation, “If your heart is as my heart, give me your hand.”
Up Coming Events
Please excuse our mess as we remodel our Sanctuary. Worship services will be held in the Fellowship Hall until the remodeling is complete.
DIFFERENT TIME OF WORSHIP ON NOVEMBER 21!
Due to the fact that the Fellowship Hall has been reserved for about a year by the Oxnard Filipino Community Church for Sunday, November 21, we will be moving our hour of worship to 4:00 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this time slot will accommodate us both. This is early enough for all to be home long before dark, even with the time change. Please help us get the word out that the time of this service has changed for this day only. WE ARE SCHEDULED TO BE BACK IN OUR NEWLY RENOVATED CHANCEL AND SANCTUARY THE FOLLOWING WEEK: NOV. 28, THE FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT.
LASAGNA DINNER: To make up any inconvenience this will cause, the Trustees will be serving a lasagna dinner following the 4:00 pm worship on November 21. YUM!
ADVENT STUDY SESSION
Tired of the consumerism that has come to define Christmas? Advent Conspiracy invites families, home groups, and churches to restore the heart of the Holiday. Unwrapping four simple but powerful concepts, this stirring book, complete with study guide, invites you to celebrate Jesus’ birth more meaningfully by giving relationally to family, friends, and the less fortunate. What does advent really mean? Christmas can still change the world when people, like Jesus, give what matters mosttheir presence. Where does the idea of Advent really come from? What does it mean to us? What should it mean to us? Rev. Dave will be leading an Advent Study Session on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Church Conference Room. Marilynne Parker will be leading this session on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Turning Point Caf.
