It has been proven that the first seven years constitute the formative period when an individual’s patterns for subsequent learning and behavior are established. Failure to provide the child with an optimum environment for the self-development can have an irreversible effect on the quality of his motor, sensory and cognitive functioning.
We understand that a child in his early years has remarkable capacity for learning therefore we provide the child with an environment conducive to exploring and learning. Then, we accelerate this by tailoring the instruction to each child’s interest. It also bolsters self-confidence.
The child receives new challenges as he/she masters the old. An ongoing cycle of confidence building and maintaining curiosity is sustained. The child begins with the simplest exercises based on activities that all the children enjoy. The child is introduced to, and soon masters math, reading and writing with the help of specially designed Montessori equipment and the help of highly trained teaching staff.
In selecting us for early childhood education, please understand that CLC is neither a babysitting service nor a play school where children are passing time until they get to the kindergarten class. We offer a unique cycle of learning designed to pass important skills to our student during their most crucial and productive years of relearning. Children graduating from our school have done extremely well in the California standardized tests and many have been selected for gifted children’s programs.
