Bookshop Santa Cruz, located in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, has 20,000 square feet of sales space and boasts a highly acclaimed childrens book section, as well as extensive selections of fiction, cookbooks, politics, travel, and science books. Our loyalty program, The Readers Club, has over 14,000 members.
Bookshop holds events several times a month in our beautiful skylight room at the center of our store, which seats 125 and can accommodate crowds of 350. In addition, our fiction room is utilized for special events and workshops. We also host off-site events at venues including The Rio Theatre (seats 700) and The Civic Auditorium (seats 2,000). Bookshop Santa Cruz has welcomed numerous acclaimed authors to town including David Sedaris, Stephen King, Jane Fonda, Dr. Andrew Weil, Art Spiegelman, Isabel Allende, Armistead Maupin, and Lidia Bastianich.
We report sales from all of our events (as well as weekly sales) to BookSense and New York Times bestseller lists.

We are delighted to welcome super crafty, super fabulous Amy Sedaris, who will share her new book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00. We're expecting a great crowd, so get your seating and prioritized signing voucher with the purchase of Simple Times (while supplies lst). UPDATE: We no longer have seating vouchers available,but this is a free event, open to the public, and standing room is available behind the seating area.
