The Valley Guild is a non-profit, volunteer organization which has owned and operated the house since 1972.
Your gratuities are greatly appreciated. They are used to maintain the House and for scholarships.
Visit our “Best Cellar” gift shop featuring unique gifts. It was here that storyteller John Steinbeck related talks of ghosts to the neighborhood youngsters.
The Best Cellar Gift Shop is open from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.

November 13th is our Harvest Tea at the Steinbeck House. Enjoy a respite from the hustle and bustle in the Queen Anne style Victorian birthplace of John Steinbeck. All of our menu items are made on site. Fresh-baked scones, tea sandwiches, fresh fruits and assorted desserts. $25 per person includes tax and tip. Call for reservations at 831-424-2735.
