My goal is to help you obtain the joy, happiness, self-esteem and success that you want –deserve! As a Board Certified Psychiatrist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I am able to help you evaluate the problems that prevent you from achieving this and help you design a treatment program to do so. I am in solo private practice and therefore am able to tailor a treatment program specific for you. Don’t become a nameless, faceless number as so often happens in large clinics and medical organizations.
I was raised in Miami, Florida. I graduated with Honors from Duke University and Vanderbilt University Medical School, and completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University prior to moving to San Diego, where I completed a Residency in Psychiatry at UCSD. I have special interests in the treatment of Depression, Mania, Anxiety Disorders, Self-Esteem Issues, Eating Disorders, ADD and Work-Related Stress. Using short-term cognitive and dynamic psychotherapeutic techniques in addition to medication when indicated. I am Consulting Psychiatrist for the NFL San Diego Chargers, Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at UCSD School of Medicine and Medical Director of Advancing Solutions Medical Research Institute, chosen to investigate new medications for Depression and Anxiety Disorders. I have been appointed a Qualified Medical Examiner by the Workers’ Compensation Board of California. Due to my expertise and experience I am asked to teach across the United States and have lectured to thousands of physicians and therapists about the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, ADD, Psychopharmacology and Behavioral Medicine. In 2007, I was honored by the United States Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress as teacher of the year. I enjoy a variety of sports, especially tennis and bike riding, travel, going to the movies and theatre and being with my wife and daughter during time away from the office.
