Newport Harbor Recovery was designed to provide structured residential treatment in an individualized, safe and compassionate setting. Our affordable alcohol, drug and dual diagnosis treatment programs focus on both men and women, age 18 and over, who for many reasons simply cannot stay sober on their own. With structure and accountability these same men and women go on to live sober, fulfilling lives.

It's automatic that where there is alcoholism and drug addiction there are legal issues, family troubles and personal problems. Separately and together these indicate a very vital need; The need to learn and develop new coping skills, relationship and behavioral skills, new life skills. This newly learned way of living must be free of alcohol and mood-altering drugs.

Group and individual counseling sessions help to educate and motivate our clients; structure and peer life helps to modify their behavior and thinking, and 12-Step meetings and support groups provide a sense of community that helps newly recovering men and women stay grounded firmly in sobriety. At Newport Harbor Recovery we have one primary goal: To provide the foundation upon which our clients may build new lives that are happy, joyous and free.

Just as every man or woman struggling with alcoholism and drug addictions is unique, so are we.

From our individualized treatment plans to our comprehensive discharge planning, from detox to transitional living, Newport Harbor IS different. But unique and individualized doesn't have to mean expensive.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual Diagnosis is a diagnosed mental illness combined with alcoholism and/or drug addiction. At Newport Harbor Recovery our trained staff insures that those who suffer from co-occuring disorders are treated with compassion and dignity. No single treatment is "just right" for everyone. Matching the treatment setting, intervention, and individualized services for each of our clients unique needs is critical to his or her ultimate success. We now know that depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders- even ADD/ADHD, can begin with alcohol abuse or drug abuse. We also know that alcohol and drugs can worsen or mask psychiatric symptoms. Not treating co-occurring disorders can lead to a pattern of Chronic Relapse. (Dual Diagnosis Track)

A Day in the Life...
It's six a.m. and it's time to start my day. I get up, make my bed and hit the shower. I have to hurry...it's Lombardi time. Lombardi time is Dee's way of saying don't just be on time, be 15 minutes early to everything. At six thirty we're heading to the seven a.m. A.A. meeting. I listen to fellow AA'ers with lots of experience- it really helps in my new-found sobriety. Before we leave I get a chance to hang-out with a few of the people who spoke at the meeting. Identifying with other alcoholics helps... a lot. I've begun to make some clean and sober friends and I've picked an A.A. Sponsor. I used to talk about getting sober and having sober friends. At Newport Harbor Recovery I'm doing it every day...and it shows.

Length of Treatment
The length of our drug treatment programs, whenever possible, are based on an individual's needs.

Just about every study on the subject concludes that the longer a patient is associated with their primary drug treatment, the greater their chances for success.

90 days seems to be the marker at which the majority of substance abusers exhibit substantial improvement.
We also fully understand that real-world demands can very easily prohibit someone for committing to a 90 day structured drug rehab program.
