West Valley Music Education

Designed to give a student of any age a jump-start into learning a new instrument of their choice in a group lesson setting. This six week program is perfect for students of all ages! From young students that want a jump-start on their instrument before they begin band for next school year, the high school student that is learning a second instrument for marching band season or the adult that has always wanted to learn an instrument. Class syllabi will be given to students at the beginning of the course. Fall classes offered are in guitar and piano.

Group lessons taught by professionals for beginning players in first year band programs. It will include Instrument care, embouchure/sound issues and fingering problems. These classes are one day only for a one and a half hour intensive with a limited class size.

For intermediate level students that have been playing in band for longer than one year that need help to improve on basic skills. This one time class will help students to gain confidence on key elements such as intonation and fingering techniques of their specific instrument in a group lesson setting. Fall classes offered are in flute, clarinet and saxophone.

Broadway Classics for Kids: Student singers will learn how to successfully audition into a musical theatre roll. Aspects of audition techniques, vocal training and performance etiquette will be discussed in depth. All students will be expected to perform in a masterclass setting each class and be working with a highly skilled active professional vocalist.

Practical Lessons and Exercises for Today's Drum Set Drummer: Intermediate to intermediate-advanced percussionists will have the opportunity to learn the steps to playing a drumset in this six week drum set specialty class with a Yamaha Drums Regional Artist. Everyone will play something every week!

Our repair department is located onsite and operates five days a week. We offer an appointment system where your instrument is scheduled for work on a specific day. You can keep your instrument until you drop it off the day before the appointment. It can then be picked up late on the appointment day or the next day. Smaller repairs can be left at the shop to fit between larger jobs, taking two days to two weeks depending on the time of year.
