REDWOOD PROPERTIES is the oldest active real estate office in the Garberville-Redway area. We have an excellent reputation in the community, and keeping that reputation is a priority. We are experienced in marketing hundreds of properties over the years. These types of properties include a 10,000 acre cattle ranch, a luxury house on 20 acres, a bar/restaurant on the Avenue of the Giants, 160 acres of timberland, a modest house in Garberville and a residential lot with an ocean view. In other words, we specialize in the area, not in any one type of property. Our staff has lived in the southern Humboldt area for many years, and between us we have sold millions of dollars in real estate and have many years experience in the real estate business. We know the area and the people.

GARBERVILLE is located in the heart of the majestic Redwood Region, serving southern Humboldt and northern Mendocino counties. Obvious to most visitors is the beauty of the area and the friendliness of the local people.

RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES are tuned to the outdoors person. The Eel and Mattole Rivers offer swimming, boating, and fishing. The thousands of acres of public land are a boon to the hunter. Shelter Cove and the Pacific Ocean are a haven to the diver, boater, fisherman and beachcomber. The forests are home to man and wildlife alike, with hiking and cycling trails and camping facilities. The Benbow Golf Course is a challenging par 70 and open to the public.

THE CLIMATE IS TEMPERATE. There are four distinct seasons, but all are mild. Summers are warm, sunny days and cool nights. Winters are moderate, with rainy days interspersed with sunny days and cooler nights. There are some nights of frost at the coldest extreme. People sometimes refer to this as a "Mediterranean Climate"

SERVICES ARE MANY which most small communities cannot offer. Medical facilities include a 20 bed modern hospital, five doctors, three dentists, an optometrist and a good ambulance service. Police services are California Highway Patrol and the Humboldt County Sheriff -- both with stations here.

Fire protection is excellent with well trained volunteer fire departments and the California Department of Forestry. Our schools offer a full range of academic, vocational and sports programs. Shopping and business services are very well rounded. Everything from soup to nuts (and bolts) is available locally.

THE BEST THING IS THE PEOPLE. Those who visit or move to this area are quick to realize that the local population is our finest resource. We have a wonderful cross-section of people who live, work and retire here. There are old ranching and logging families who have lived here for generations. There are newly retired people who come from all walks of life. There are growing families who were raised locally, and families who have moved here for a better quality life.
