Metro Print and Mail Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of Dan Busman as Estimating Manager, to our growing staff of print and mail professionals. For more than 25 years Dan has been one of the best print estimators in Northern California. Dan's vast knowledge of web, sheetfed, digital and mail estimating has made him one of the most sought after estimators in our industry and his attention to detail and innate ability to find effective solutions quickly dovetail extremely well with the core strengths of Metro Print and Mail Solutions. We're confident that Dan will be more than up to the challenge of providing the fast, accurate and cost effective quotes that our clients need.
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that effective April 6th, 2010 Direct Mail Services Inc, aka American Mail Service will be ceasing operations as an independent business entity. There are many factors which led up to this difficult decision including but not limited to the current economic climate in the direct mail industry. We have tried in vain to reduce our overhead while still maintaining the level of quality and service that our customers have been accustomed to for more than 25 years. Unfortunately it is clear that there is no viable economic alternative for us but to cease operations. That's the bad news, now the good news.
The last thing we wanted to do was to close our doors and leave our clients to fend for themselves and have to scramble to find another alternative. We consider many of you to be friends and we could not, in good conscience, abandon you and your needs. To that end we have found a company that is capable of meeting and more likely exceeding the level of service you have received from American Mail. Metro Print and Mail and its President Gary Meredith have graciously agreed to service all of the AMS accounts and will honor all current pricing and service standards. Many of you may already be familiar with Metro but for those of you who aren't let me assure you that Gary's company shares the same values and commitment to customer service that American Mail has striven to provide for a quarter of a century.
I am confident that our clients will quickly see the benefits of this change. From traditional print and direct mail to full color variable digital printing, Metro Print and Mail is an industry leader in the scope of services they offer and the quality of work that they provide. The facility in Natomas is state of the art and every opportunity to maximize efficiency has been fully thought out and taken advantage of. We look forward to having as many of you as possible come and take a tour and see why Metro is better equipped to meet your needs than we would ever have been capable of achieving.
Rest assured that the security of your materials, data and information is being given the highest level of consideration and concern during this transition. We are working hard to make sure that the transfer is as seamless as possible and that there are no delays in meeting deadlines. We know that many of you will have questions and concerns regarding this change and we will be here to make sure all of those questions are answered to your satisfaction. We appreciate your patience and understanding and hope that you understand that while this is a difficult time for American Mail Service it is also looked upon by us and Metro as a positive step to ensure that the clients who have been so loyal to us throughout the years will continue to be well taken care of moving forward.
Change is never easy and this is not what I had ever envisioned for American Mail Service but I feel we have found the best possible solution for all involved. I am optimistic that in the coming weeks and months ahead our clients will see and reap the overall benefits of this difficult decision. We are confident that you will see major improvements in how your projects are handled from start to finish. In my opinion, Gary and his team have built a world class print and mail solution, it's the kind of company I had always hoped and dreamed American Mail would be, but unfortunately was not able to achieve.
For the weeks leading up to April 6th American Mail Service will subcontract all work to Metro Print and Mail. All estimates and invoices will be on American Mail stationary and payments should be made payable to American Mail. After April 6th all estimates and invoices will be generated by Metro Mail. Again, Metro has agreed to honor all current pricing for any estimate or invoice generated by AMS.
We want this change to be as easy as possible for our clients, which is why key staff members, including myself and Laura VanBaak, who know your work will be staying on to service your account and the current phone numbers and email addresses will remain in effect for the near future. The only thing that we ask of you is that you direct all deliveries to Metro Print and Mail at the delivery address below.
In closing, I want to sincerely thank all of you for your friendship, loyalty and support over the past 25 years. We've had our fair share of ups and downs, but through it all we've always tried to stick to our core commitment to be a family company that saw our employees, vendors and clients as more than just a means to an end, but as partners and friends who we've shared many moments of laughter, a few tears and above all else a commitment face our challenges and do the kind of work that we could all be proud of at the end of each day.
