I provide individual and couples therapy for gay and bisexual men. My experience includes working with gay and bisexual men with diverse ages, lifestyles, and cultural backgrounds on a wide range of issues. My areas of specialization include sexuality and coming out, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, social isolation, addiction issues, and living with HIV. I also provide clinical consultation, education and training, and clinical supervision. Please refer to my complete list of services and areas of experience.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS # 11218) and practicing psychotherapist since 1985. I have thirty years of experience working with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) populations in the areas of mental health, HIV and youth services.
My therapy approach includes using several orientations including choice, insight-oriented, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. It is based on our ability to choose the life we want, understanding the impact of the past on our lives, and focusing on the present to make the changes needed to improve our lives.
My practice is located in the heart of San Francisco in the Castro / Noe Valley area. Fees are based on a sliding scale and insurance is accepted. Free telephone consultations are available.
