Welcome to the Nicholas Sonder, Architect, website. As a long-time resident of Truckee-Tahoe, Nick understands the unique design decisions needed for structures in the environment of heavy, wet Sierra Nevada snow. He also puts the tech in to Architect by combining old school hand drawing and drafting with state of the art 3D graphic software such as SketchUp.
Using tools such as hand drawing, SketchUp, and excellent verbal communication, Nick is an Architect who can clearly convey his vision to clients, government agencies and contractors. His portfolio encompasses commercial, residential and publicly funded projects. In Truckee-Tahoe, residential projects include: Gray's Crossing, Lahontan, Donner Crest, Winter Creek, Truckee, and Martis Landing. Publicly funded projects Nick has worked on are fire stations and schools, while his commercial projects include office space.
Nick's services include: site analysis, schematic design, design development, construction documents and permit submittal, bidding negotiation, construction and administration, rendering and visualization, and SketchUp.
