The rounded edges and removable bars make this especially child-friendly. Pair of mallets included. This high-quality instrument is great for early childhood in that letter names are indicated on each of the individual colored bars.

Our daughter, Katherine, has been listening to your CD every day, showing us the dance movements and explaining to us what each song is about. I don't think I've ever seen her as impressed with a class as she obviously is with her music week. Even her 7-year-old brother, who never went to her preschool and generally chooses to dislike whatever his sister happens to like at the moment, joined Katherine several times singing along with her.
