Solar Net Metering Cap Raised. The cap on net energy metering (NEM) was raised from 2.5% of utilities' peak demand to 5%, thereby doubling the number of potential solar customers that can take advantage of this special billing arrangement.
Compensation Option for Net-Metered Net Generators.Starting 1/1/11, "net generators," i.e. customers who import more electricity to the grid than they export from the grid over 12 months, will have the option to receive financial compensation for the excess energy.
CSI Solar Thermal Program Under Way. A new $350 million program called CSI-Thermal, will provide rebates for installing qualified solar water heating systems starting May 1, 2010.
